Grown by native farmers on the Gila River Indian Reservation in Arizona, White Tepary Beans are a rare, drought-resistant heirloom variety that is high in fiber, protein and has a low glycemic index. The variety was almost extinct until a few seedlings were found and revived by Ramona and Terry Button, the husband and wife duo behind Remona Farms.
This variety of beans are known for their creamy texture as well as their rich, nutty, and slightly sweet flavor. These beans hold their shape and firmness when cook for an extended period of time, ideal for soups, stews dips, and spreads.
