Shichimi togarashi, literally 'seven color chile pepper,' is an all-in-one seasoning for Japanese recipes, from a simple bowl of rice to a piece of grilled meat that needs a bright note. Compared to Yamatsu's regular shichimi togarashi, this blend emphasizes the citrus fragrance of yuzu and is less spicy. Made with special 'hawk's claw' chile peppers, white sesame seeds, poppy seeds, yuzu zest, sansho peppercorns, and seaweed.
